The Boondock Saints is a cult classic. Released in 1999, the film follows two Irish brothers exploits in Boston as they take up arms and begin passing judgement on the evil-doers in society. 10 years later, when many many people have seen the original film, the long-awaited sequel is finally being released. In 67 theaters, in only California and the North-East. Sigh. This means that we can either wait for the dvd release in 4-5 months, or do what people did for Paranormal Activity, and petition its release in theaters everywhere. It took 1.2 million people to bring Paranormal Activity to the mainstream, but the petition for Saints 2 is growing rapidly as more and more people learn that its not being released near them. Frankly its limited release doesn't make any sense, there are commercials for it on all the time, and it would seem that they would release it where the ads are playing. I have no idea why they would pay to run commercials down in Charlotte NC, when I would have to drive 8 hours straight to get within range of a theater showing the movie. So please, use this site to demand the movie get a broad release, it deserves one.
